NEXT EVENT - Friday 26th August - Please see 'tickets' for more info and to purchase tickets. Dr Sketchy was started by Molly Crabapple in New York in 2005 and has blossomed into an exciting network of events and artists. Bec Collins is the License holder for Dr Sketchy in Hobart and is excited to be able to bring this wonderful concept to such a fine city bursting with artistic appreciation and talent. Using the best local entertainers and models we take over a bar and provide you a fun way to get your creativity flowing. Being a great drawer isn't what it's about, it's how you interpret the scenes and bring them to life on the paper. It's a simple game plan - bring your own art supplies, sit in an intimate environment, watch the show and entertainment and then draw to your hearts content. The MC will be there to amuse and inspire you. A full bar is thoughtfully provided to help you get your groove onto the paper! The venue is cozy and intimate with a cafe restaurant attached if you wish to dine on a fantastic dinner menu. There will be contests and prizes during the night! The contests are part of the fun, a little twisted and hilarious to win. It's an adult event of course, with one or two things to keep in mind. Sweet sixteens should stay at home, it's a bar so entry is reserved for 18 years of age and above. Please only bring dry art supplies. Paints etc aren't venue friendly. Bring what you can carry, easels aren't generally allowed as they can block others. Please contact us if you wish to make special arrangements. Respect for our artists and models is of course part of the event. Touching isn't allowed and asking for dates should be left for the nightclubs. Vocal encouragement to show your appreciation for their racy style and poses is encouraged. They will be non-nude but daring! Capture images on the paper, not with a camera. Photography isn't allowed inside the venue. Models may want to be photographed at another time for their portfolio so it's ok to ask them directly. We may have an official photographer who can take tasteful memories of the event. It's time to get sketchy! |
